Description: Cape Town. February 10 2006 Thousands of Muslims staged a disciplined and peaceful march through central city today in response to the 'cartoon saga', the publication of cartoons depicting the prophet Mohammed. Depictions of the prophet are not acceptable to Muslims. Protests in many countries have turned violent resulting in several deaths. The march ran its course peacefully despite a small group of marchers brandishing placards calling for death to the Danes, and tearing Danish flags in violation of the instructions of the leadership.
